PRESS RELEASE -February 28, 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VitalMetric, LLC announces a new U.S. non-provisional patent application and a PCT international patent application for the environmental control of animal enclosures. The technology uses Microwave Doppler Radar to measure the respiration rate of animals in the enclosure, and using this as a Proxy for heat stress. We then control the environmental cooling systems to maximize animal comfort while minimizing energy usage. The purpose of the invention is not only to improve animal productivity, but more importantly, it will improve the living conditions of the animals. The first planned application of the product will be in controlling the cooling systems in dairy barns on large commercial dairy farms where heat stress in the southern latitudes is not only an economic issue but also harmful to the animal.
